Our mission is To provide premium quality, ethically raised Wagyu-Angus beef cattle.

All our cattle are Ranch raised in the wide open spaces of the texas panhandle.

This means easy-to-manage cattle fed on premium forage in Wheeler, Donley, Collingsworth, Gray & Lipscomb Counties. We are a family operation from ranch to plate, and offer complete transparency on our cattle and processing; all to provide you with the most delicious American-raised Wagyu-Angus beef.

How we raise our award-Winning Beef

Pasture born

All our cattle are born on pasture and weaned at 6-7 months. Pasture born calves experience less stress and have the ability to constantly graze, which builds healthy, happy cattle.

open grazing

Our weaned calves graze on open pasture until 12-14 months of age. We utilize rotational grazing in order to assure proper land management, quality forage and free-choice minerals.

finishing

All cattle have constant access to fresh water and forage and are grain finished to ensure the perfect marbling. After processing at a local, small volume butchery that is inspected by the USDA, our beef is dry aged for 28-35 days. Dry aging intensifies the beef flavor and tenderizes the meat.

American wagyu

The word Wagyu (和牛) translates to “Japanese cow”, a breed which is genetically predisposed for their intense fat marbling. Our Kuroge Washu (黒毛和種) bull herd is from the Tajima (但馬) bloodline which descends from the Tajiri master bull.

According the USDA, any calves born with more than 46.875% of traceable Wagyu genetics are eligible to claim Wagyu influence. Our retail beef is always 62% - 75% Wagyu and the remaining percentage is top quality Angus.

Our cattle consistently grade at or beyond USDA Prime, the highest beef grade in the United States. Less than 3% of cattle in America grade at Prime.

Black angus

Aberdeen Angus cattle are well-known in the U.S. as hardy, easy mannered cattle with excellent muscle mass. The cattle have a high muscle mass and also known for their marbling qualities, which makes it a great candidate for crossbreeding.

With our breeding program that began in 1979, we have developed an Angus herd of cows that are good mothers, with a solid frame and muscle mass who are well adapted to the Texas climate in the Panhandle.

Tr cattle Co.’s wagyu-Angus herd

Our Wagyu-Angus crossbred herd delivers superb marbling and meat quality with the feed efficiency and temperament of Angus cattle. We utilize a natural breeding program for our cattle, keeping their stress low and staying on pasture.

Our crossbred cattle can yield beef that has a higher percentage of healthier fats (e.g. omega-3, omega-6 and CLA) that deliver unparalleled flavor and tenderness.

Purchasing meat from TR Cattle Company is the most sustainable and responsible way to buy protein. You know where the calves were born and raised.
